From Abandonment to Becoming
The path to self-acceptance is rarely a straightforward journey. It is filled with twists, turns, and moments of doubt that force us to confront parts of ourselves we would
Welcome to the official home of House of Velvet Tongue, a deeply personal memoir by Leander Luchia Poe. Some stories are not meant to entertain; they are told because they have to be shared!
House of Velvet Tongue: Find Me Where the Sidewalk Ends is a raw journey into desire, control, and survival. It follows a boy forced into independence who finds refuge in a house ruled by powerful women. What starts as shelter becomes ritual. Training replaces childhood. Submission becomes purpose. Through intimate scenes and reflections, Leander explores how structure-shaping love affects identity. The book delves into discipline, trauma, devotion, sexuality, and unspoken emotional contracts between shadowed individuals.
Readers will discover:
The origins of the House and the women who built it
• The rituals that shaped a young man into something precise and obedient
• The emotional cost of being desired without being owned
• The lasting imprint of early power dynamics
• The quiet ache of searching for belonging long after leaving
This book bravely shares honest and poetic stories that may challenge you, but it never apologizes for its truth!
Leander Luchia Poe was born and raised on the West Side of Cincinnati, Ohio. The son of a General and raised in a disciplined but unstable environment, his childhood ended abruptly at thirteen when he was ordered to leave home.
What followed was a life shaped by resilience…
Leander graduated early from an arts charter school and worked for decades amid poverty, displacement, returning later to buy his childhood home. Instead of traditional art careers, he found his voice in lived experience as a sexual therapist, sharing stories of longing, shame, and desire. These shaped his debut memoir, House of Velvet Tongue, where he writes honestly about survival, discipline, and human connection.
